Self-Image – Trauma = Self-Confidence

Self-Image - Traume = Self-Confidence.

If you want to get the maximum out of your employees to enhance your organisational culture, you will need to attend to this factor of trauma. It is one of the hidden aspects of human psychology that can get in the way of employees maximising their potential and living mentally healthy lives.

Trauma is something we carry with us into the workplace. It is not something we just leave at home. It can be triggered and reinforced in the workplace by factors related to culture, leadership, management, communication, conflict management, performance, equity, equality etc. etc.

Remember, self-confidence is not just a sum of positive traits but a strategic reduction of the detrimental impact of past experiences.

As you develop your culture be aware that change can further trigger trauma in people so be sensitive to that when you design your change framework and strategy.

Culture change is complex, but it can be humane, if you want it to be so.
